When I first did the Lemon Juice Detox, I knew it wasn’t right for everyone but I was sure that it was the right fit for me. And I’m so glad that I did it because not only have I lost an astonishing 33lb but I now seem to bypass all of the germs that the kids bring home from school too, not to mention the massive amount of energy i now have. I haven’t felt this great since for years, it’s probably one of the best decisions I ever made.

Lemon Juice DetoxThere are many conflicting opinions on the detox, one of the main ones that my research showed me was the ton of differing recipes out there. So let’s start by looking at the recipe I used, this is the tried and tested original recipe:

* 8floz Spring Water (or pure water from a source)

* 2 TBL Spns Fresh Lemon Juice - use organic if you compress the skins

* 2 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup Grade B

* 1/10th Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

You’re done, there is nothing else that you need to add to this mix - regardless of what you might hear. You don’t need to invest in special palm oils or ingredients, just use what I have given you above.

For FIFTY years, this has been the recipe of choice and it’s based on the Master Cleanse by Stanley Burroughs. Although you might be inclined to tweak it and try other versions, I would encourage you to give this tried and tested version a go as it has proven results.

The detox is known by various names, some are the same, some have tiny tweaks but all are based on the Master Cleanse, you may have heard it called the following; maple syrup detox, lemon juice cleanse, cayenne pepper diet, lemon detox, the lemonade diet and the master cleanse, amongst others. All of which stem from the Master Cleanse.

I tend to refer to it as the Lemon Juice Detox as I think it pretty much sums it up! You’ll read many versions and there are even ‘relaxed’ versions out there now too, though I have only ever done the 100% detox version and the results from that have been phenominal and I’ve never felt better!

If anyone tells you the detox is easy, then they are probably lying or selling something. It isn’t easy but it is rewarding, if you stay on the staright and narrow. There are aspects of the detox that I really didn’t like - I could have cared less for the laxtive tea and the salt water flush was an experience that I wouldn’t describe as ‘pleasant’ but the end result was what I had my focus on. The right mindeset makes all the difference to your overall success. The detox is for people who want fast but long lasting results.

The detox can bring on some nasty headaches around days three and four but it’s a good sign that your body is in full detox and on the cusp of eliminating all those awful toxins.

After you have got past that initial stage of getting used to it and dealing with the temporary headaches, it all becomes much easier and you should start to enjoy your detox. You’ll ahve moments of complete serenity and peace and at times you will be grinning from ear to ear, it really does make you feel fantastic. My first detox lasted nineteen days, I didn’t want to come off it!

What happens now? well, I would always recommend that you check out with a health professional that you’re good to go. There are many, many health professionals supporting the detox and it’s proven results of lowered blood pressure.

Good luck with your own personal journey with the detox, I’m sure it will be something you’ll be glad you did.
