We frequently only consider applying sunscreen when we expect to be outside for many hours. However, we don’t consider it when we spend shorter periods out of doors. Your skin is exposed to the sun’s rays each time you are outside, even if you’re simply walking to work in the morning or taking a breather outdoors in the afternoon.
It is advised that sunscreen with the minimal SPF of fifteen is applied to all exposed body parts. Even so, you should stay clear of the sun in the afternoon hours, when the sun’s ray are the most damaging. Overexposure to sunlight isn’t restricted to summer months. Skin damage due to sunlight can occur year-long, and could lead to skin cancer. To protect yourself, always wear sunscreen.
Being mindful of the signs of skin cancer is your responsibility and only you can watch your own health. To make sure that you fight the battle against cancer, do all you can to protect yourself including consulting a doctor and using sun lotion when out of doors. You should cover as much skin as feasible, and apply sun lotion to all exposed skin. Between 10 AM and four PM, when the sun is brightest, avoid sunlight when possible.
