Ten Golden Tips on How to Be Creative in All Works of Life

In today’s society every time we have an idea, one we think will set us apart from others we often realize that someone else besides ourselves has thought of it. The next difficulty we face is that it is almost impossible to see a path to bring this to fruition. There are numerous obstacles that present themselves that make us give up on our ideas and dreams. Below are ten tips for getting past these obstacles.
1. The idea
Regardless of who we are in life or what we have accomplished, none of us has ever created anything from nothing. Only God can boast this accomplishment. What we do is use the resources that have been provided to us to make them work with our ideas. In that case no ideas are truly unique. They are merely mirrors of what we have seen be it physically or spiritually. What makes an idea unique to an individual is how they churn it to their personality and beliefs. If we recognize this then we won’t have any problem developing each thought we have without the obstacle that someone else has done it before us.
2. Research
In this domain we gather information for our idea. It does not matter were we get it from or how little and insignificant it may appear to be. What is of relevance here is that we have a library of information to turn to. It is even during this research that we may decide whether our idea is feasible or not.
3. The plan
After the idea comes the plan on how to fulfill this thought. A plan is a necessity for guidance, direction and discipline. Without this we would have no scale of measurement and point of reference. In a plan we determine whether the idea is feasible by examining our strengths and weaknesses and all the many facets that go into planning. If after this all makes sense then we can move on to the next step.
4. Focus
This is one of the deciding factors of whether we succeed or fail. Having an idea and a plan that is never adhered to is a waste of time. We need to have some form of focus and determination to succeed in it. Merely wishing is not good enough, we must be willing to put the work behind it and make the sacrifices were necessary. Nothing accomplished of significance comes without hard work.
5. Peaks and troughs
It is prudent to cater for the good times and the bad times in our plans. These are going to happen regardless of whatever precautions or foresight we may have. It is the nature of success and life itself. We should plan to succeed despite the knocks that we may face. We must also recognize the small victories when they come and feed on them for more success.
6. Human element
A plan without catering for the human aspect of life is flawed. We work with people and not machines or robots. Our idea no doubt would be seen or used by people and not machines. We seek recognition in people and not machines. In that case they should be catered for in our thinking. We must allow for this part of our existence to come through whether it is positive or negative.
7. Time
Time is a factor that plays many roles in success. Time can be involved in the release of the idea. It can be involved in when we approach others. It can be involved in the length of time it takes for us to develop the idea. In short we must be aware of it. The key here is to make sure that we manage it and not it managing us. It is dangerous forcing an idea through because we want to beat time.
8. Patience and prudence
The virtues of success come in patience and prudence. If we have gone to the lengths of thinking up an idea and having a plan for success then we must be patient and wise. In patience we learn to be observant to watch our every move and those of others. If we are patient then we shall act wisely. This is one of the keys to success, we must not be influenced by the times or what others say. We should listen and make up our minds accordingly.
9. Faith
Faith is the defining element of the idea. Without faith we won’t believe in what we are doing. We won’t believe in the conviction that it would work. Experience is often a welcome retreat but this is never enough to carry us through. We must have faith in God because when the real tests come and they certainly will we need all the strength we can muster to overcome them. Only God can provide this and only by him is true success guaranteed.
10. Victory
Victory should not just be measured by the success of the idea be it financial or otherwise. Victory should also be measured by the journey and what we gained through it. If victory is measured in this way then we stand a chance of doing more and being creative in other things. The true success of any idea is learning that we are a source for more ideas.
