No natural cure for depression is guaranteed to make you feel better. A good way to battle depression is to follow a series of steps that will help you feel better sooner rather than later.
Almost everyone has experienced depression at some time or other. Job loss, grief, and tragedies are an unfortunate part of life. These can be depressing, but there are things you can do to help your depression without medication.
Depression usually causes lethargy. Vitamins often help because they give you an extra boost of energy. Many people also use St. John’s Wort to enhance their moods. Constant fatigue only makes the feelings of depression worse.
Exercise is an excellent mood enhancer. It makes you feel good and helps you look good and feel more confident. A little bit of exercise can also energize you, helping lift your mood.
Depression sometimes makes you want to stay in bed all day. Fight the urge to lie around. Wake up and get up to enhance your desire to get something done. Make 8am your target for waking up. That’s not too early, or too late. Setting a goal and an alarm will keep you from sleeping too long.
Set goals for yourself. Determine that you are going to get started on the projects around the house that you have been putting off. This will give you a reason to get out of bed. A hobby is also a good way to get you out of the bed and away from the TV and computer.
Chances are if you dress like a slob, you will feel like a slob. Get dressed in something presentable, even if you aren’t planning on getting out of the house that day. You may also consider getting a pet. Pets are wonderful for lifting your spirits and helping abate the feeling of loneliness.
Call friends and ask if they are willing to meet and chat. Talking about how you feel will help you feel better. There are other natural cures for depression, but these helped me, and I feel they will work for you, as well.
